Baby Update!

It's been awhile since the announcement that my wife was having a baby. Usually I try and keep my DJ life and my personal life separate but this is an extraordinary event!

My wife, Allison, is doing ABSOLUTELY wonderful. We're well into the second trimester so she has some energy. We've been getting the house ready for our little one who is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 15th. Of course that date will most likely change, but still that's our tentative date.

The other day we had to go to the hospital where Allison will be delivering our baby. We met with a doctor and had what they call an Anatomy Scan done. They literally looked at everything. I was in awe the whole time.

Seeing my baby's head, face, nose, mouth, it's little heart just beating away. It's an AWESOME sight. While we were there they asked if we wanted to know the sex of our child. Allison and I both did and;

IT'S A GIRL!

We're both extremely excited. We've decided on a name already, well we decided on names a long time ago, but it's set in stone now. Our daughters name will be Airilynn Salena Hankammer and I can't wait to meet her.

During these times people are so wrapped up in mundane and things that are truly unimportant that the important, and meaningful events seem to take a back seat. Becoming a father has changed my entire outlook on things. I'll still be doing Super Trance Sunday, and the Podcast, but there will be times when they're either late or I can't be there due to, you know, fathery type stuff.

So...with that and my soapbox being broken. I want you all to meet my darling angel.

Fatherhood

So, I really don't ever post anything about my personal life, well unless you follow my Twitter or FB. But here it goes anyway.

Last night around 9pm my wife came home from work feeling a little ill. She's been having strange feelings for a little over a week. She decided to take a pregnancy test and low and behold it turned out positive!

We have been trying for a little while to conceive and it has finally happened. We are excited, scared, nervous and anxious. New parents for the first time. It's wonderful, exciting, and frightening all at the same time.

I'm sure there will be many moments in the months, years to follow that my family life will need to come first. I don't plan on stopping this podcast or my show on 1mix, but they know as I hope all of you do, that family life is more important than anything else this world has to offer.

Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes, now comes the running around like a chicken with my head cut off to try and get things in order for the arrival of my first child =)
